Highlighting Utah Valley University’s achievements in 2022, including new campus buildings, academic and athletic victories, the securing of historic donations, and increased completion rates, President Astrid S. Tuminez emphasized the opportunities ahead as she delivered the State of the University address on Jan. 26 in the Clarke Building on UVU’s Orem Campus.
"At UVU, each of us — whatever our positions are — we take our opportunities and responsibilities seriously, and we serve," President Tuminez said.
Her address also shone a spotlight on UVU’s EverGREEN comprehensive campaign, new educational programs, and the disruptions facing higher education at present, including declining enrollment rates, ChatGPT, and tech company certifications.
“We are living in very uncertain and rather difficult and unpredictable times in higher education,” President Tuminez said. "I see disruption as opportunity. I see it as nothing to fear."
